Meet Melissa

I'm Melissa Baker, co-owner of Bright Futures Therapeutic Services, LLC. As an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, I bring 25 years of extensive pediatric experience from Massachusetts and Ohio. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to working with children with complex communication needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum. I have extensive experience supporting children and teenagers with articulation and language disorders. At Bright Futures, our speech and language therapy celebrates the concept of neurodiversity, embracing each individual's unique strengths.

In addition to my clinical practice, I was previously an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. My expertise has been recognized through publications in esteemed journals and publications, including Autism Spectrum Quarterly, Advance, and eHearsay. I have had the privilege of sharing my knowledge at various conferences across the United States, such as ASHA, OCALI, Milestones, ASA Orlando, and OSLHA.

Previously, I served as the Speech Therapy Department Supervisor at Monarch Center for Autism in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where I supervised a team of up to twenty speech-language pathologists. In this role, I collaborated closely with colleagues from Boston Children's Hospital, enhancing my ability to provide exceptional care. My genuine passion lies in empowering children to reach their fullest potential and thrive in all aspects of their lives.

I invite you to schedule an initial consultation if you seek professional guidance and support. Together, we can explore how Bright Futures Therapeutic Services can assist your child in their journey toward success.
